Overwhelmed...

At the moment, I'm feeling kind of overwhelmed by my Ever Growing accumulation of Unfinished Projects...

It's an ongoing issue for me. Truth of the matter is that I LOVE to start things. By nature, I'm a starter rather than a finisher. And because crafting is a leisure activity, I tend to indulge myself a bit, and just work on the fun stuff. If that means starting three projects in the one evening... then Why Not?



Well.

Why Not?

Because you end up living in a Sea of Unfinishedness - that's why not!

So I'm plodding my way through them all.

It's Frog or Finish time...

So you might see a few Golden Oldies appearing on the blog. Projects you assumed that I must have finished... Hah!



My First Finish is this Freeform style hat. Here's how it looked the other day:



It didn't take long to complete. Just a couple more rounds and then the finishing touches...





Now to work on this Rag Bag...

Woah! I disappeared...

Not quite sure what happened there, but I disappeared for a while, didn't I???

Things have been very quiet around here - and not much crafting has been going on.

Mostly I've just been working on those shortie shorts for my Dear Niece Jade...

It's kind of tricky to get a clear photo of them, because all the shaping means that they don't sit flat (but should fit the body beautifully). Hopefully this shot gives you an idea of where I'm up to.

So the shorts are worked in the round from the waist down.

You then add a gusset, which divides the legs.

Each leg is finished with a decorative trim,

which is WELCOME relief after all that single crochet!!!

One of the legs is finished, and I'm about 1/3 of the way through the second leg.

There's only six more rounds of single crochet to go... 

and then it's onto the decorative edging.

Then I just need to weave in my ends... 

and make the drawstring for the waist... 

and we're finally done!

A present for me.

Look what I bought myself!

A bit extravagant, I know... but it's been on my wish list for such a long time now.

So when my money came through from the Alice Springs Beanie Festival...

(yes those beanies sold - yay)

I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to buy. 

I haven't had the chance to play with it yet. The threads and fabric you see there came with the machine. But I'm desperate to get going with it. There's just one small problem.

I don't usually order much online. But with this overlocker, I knew exactly what I wanted - so I took the plunge and ordered from the US.

I thought I was mighty clever.

Ordering it all by myself.

Didn't even mention it to Mr Goldfish until it arrived.

When he saw the package had come from overseas, he grunted... and asked... "What about the plug?"

Bugger.

Bugger.  Bugger.  Bugger.  Bugger.  Bugger.  

Didn't even think of that!

See... Our electrical sockets here in Australia look like this:

(Not everyone's are quite this filthy of course!)

And the plug on that overlocker is NEVER going to fit in that socket!

So I'm off to buy an adaptor.

And read the Instruction Manual!
