master six produces a necklace
You might remember I've talked about our plans for a hand made Christmas in the Goldfish household. Basically, instead of buying gifts for one another, we will be making them.
Well... over the weekend, Master Six worked on his gift for Little Miss Four. She is very much a girly girl who loves her jewellery, so he was very keen to create a necklace for her.
I was actually quite surprised at his forethought with this project. Twelve months ago he would have strung on a random handful of beads and the job would have been finished in two minutes flat. But he has matured a great deal this year. There was a long involved process of choosing the beads... then laying them out in the order he wanted... then measuring to check the length of the elastic... all very precise and planned. It was beautiful to watch him putting in so much effort, all because he wanted to make something really special for his little sister.
That is so gorgeous! What a beautiful big brother. He has done an exellent job on it. I received a necklace for my birthday made by the boys and it was so nice but very random :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like he could be a budding young designer.
That's so sweet, and he definitely has an eye for it with a lovely selection of beads. Maybe he should open an etsy shop!
ReplyDeleteoh, that is just lovely! I love his color selection and the thought he put into the shapes and sizes...so very mature in thought.
ReplyDeletethat necklace is wonderful!
hugs,
puglette
:o)
That is just gorgeous. I'd love to wear it myself. I hope it becomes a lasting treasure.
ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed reading your blog. I'm very intrigued (hope that's spelled right!) about your homemade Christmas. I would love to try that with my family. Are you allowed to buy materials or just work with what you have on hand? (Sorry if I missed that somewhere.) I can't wait to see how it works out. The necklace is very cool.
ReplyDeleteThe necklace is stunning!!! I love jewelery, and would love to have that one!
ReplyDeleteThe necklace is wonderful. I like the way he has planned it and I'm guessing his sister will love it - it looks so grown-up!
ReplyDeleteExcellent for master 6, he'll be designing in no time!
ReplyDeleteYour suggestion to your family for a handmade Christmas is certainly proving to be a 'gift'! The necklace is exquisite.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty necklace. Excellent job Master 6
ReplyDeleteOh Mrs Goldfish - that is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMaster six has done a stunning job. You must be very impressed. And knowing Miss four - she is going to be over the moon with this.
How lovely your family is.

ReplyDeletecurlypops - hmmmm... yes.... he's six years old... it's about time he started to earn his keep around here! lol :)
puglette - it was gorgeous to see him putting so much thought into the selection
kaf - most of her necklaces are broken by her brothers playing tug-o-war... hopefully he will be too proud of this one to destroy it!
the author - actually... I don't think I mentioned it earlier... we are allowed to buy the materials to make the gift with... it's all a bit short notice this year, but with more time to plan for it next year, I will be encouraging everyone to consider recycling
rima - we haven't spoken for so long! thanks for stopping by :)
whatsonox - she will love it... and she will really love that her big brother made it just for her
cat - wouldn't that be nice!

ReplyDeletethat is not just a beautiful necklace but a beautiful heart that made it.
ReplyDeleteWow - he's got an eye for design there. It must run in the family. Doesn't that just melt your heart that he was so thoughtful to his sister? The necklace is just beautiful.

ReplyDeletequeenie - you're right about that heart
elle - he really surprised me with this one!
It is a beautiful necklace, and as the others said, you obviously have another (budding) designer in the family.
