You guessed it...
It's another ODDBALL hat for the Alice Springs Beanie Festival...
Hat number 3, in fact.
I do love the hat, but I'm growing a bit weary of these colours...
So I think that the next hat will have to be a bit different!
After all - VARIETY is the spice of life.
I like the multiple tassels hanging off this one. I would love to see the creative process behind these beanies. Do you make scrumbles then crochet them together?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the next creation :)
Thanks Neen...
ReplyDeleteYes. They start out as scrumbles, which I then try and piece together (by sewing or crochet)into a wide headband to form the lower part of the hat. Then I kind of fill in the crown section with more scrumbles, but don't worry too much about creating a flat shape. The hat just evolves into its own shape, so I find it's best not to launch into it with a predetermined idea of how you want it to look - just let it flow by itself!
I will endeavour to show more of the process at some point... maybe not this week, but definitely for one of the 12 beanies I'm making for the festival.
