surprise!

Remember this Lisa Gentry Yarn Bag? I made it for a contest on Ravelry a few weeks back.

Well - it won!

I thought we were just competing for 'the glory'... so I was pleasantly surprised to discover there was a prize pack on offer... and delighted when this arrived in the mail.

lisa gentry prize pack 0908

Twelve balls of yarn, a bunch of crochet patterns, a gauge thingy and some large circular knitting needles. Thanks Lisa!

  2. cat - thanks... as much as I do love my reclaimed yarns, it was exciting to receive some 'ready to go' yarn... I don't need to air it, frog it, skein it, wash it or ball it... I can just use it, lol!

  3. Congratulations, it's a lovely bag. I like the way you used 3 strands of wool instead of one chunky. It never occured to me to try that. (Beginner here!)
Still plucking up the courage to spend £5 on a jumper that I can "recycle". I know I'll just end up with a mess, lol.

  7. Wow, look at those needles! I can't wait to see what you'll make with them. And brand new yarn! It's going to be exciting, I can feel it. Congratulations!

  8. sam - I just experiment with what I have in my stash... if the pattern calls for a bulkier yarn than I have, then I play around with using two or more strands... I don't really believe in following the rules... which works fine with items such as this bag, but not so well for a fitted garment!

    crafty gardener - thanks

oh2122 - thanks, it's become a wonderful project bag... room to take my crochet with me wherever I go!

karen - they'll certainly come in handy for rag knitting

adrienne - thanks, you are very kind :)

misha - they're way larger than any of my other circulars... so they'll certainly come in handy
