Absolutely Brilliant!!! I'm adding this to my list of to do projects! Thank you for sharing :)
What a great idea! I love it. Four strands..now that is a very quick gift.
Awesome! I love this! I was thinking of making some long skinny scarves to complement my tux for fancy singing gigs. This will do it just fine.
OLove it - I can not crochet - but knitted a blanket for my daughter on 15mm needles and four strands of 8ply - she loves it!
that looks fantastic! unfortunately i cant crochet, but i might give knitting it a go with 4 strands. thanks for the idea! :D
I just finished mine! It turned out wonderfully and my son will love it. I will post a picture and links on my blog tomorrow.
Thanks Sharon!
I am SO glad I found this pattern!!!! It is beautiful and SUPER easy! I am making scarves for The Special Olympics Winter Games...Now I'll be able to make so much more; because it's SO fast!
Thank you SO SO SO much for sharing this!
happy hooking everyone... it really is a speedy scarf!
I'm not that great with crocheting, but I love knitting. I will definitely pick up some giant knitting needles to try this.
christianne - as a knitter you will probably enjoy tomorrow's blog post... I have a pattern for similar scarf, but knitted
Thanks So Much!!! :D
Looks Great! I can't wait to try it out! How many skeins of yarn does each scarf require?
Thanks!
Amy :-)
amy - I was working from my stash of recycled yarns, and unfortunately I didn't take note of the yardage :(
Lovely idea and looks really cosy.
would this be something for a beginner to do? i'm interested in getting into crocheting and came across your site. kinda of dunno where to start all i know is i want to make a scarf lol

This scarf is fantastic - I whipped one up on the weekend and took it into work today - everyone loves it and wants their own!
I'm planning to go buy some wool at lunch and make myself another one - so super quick that I can see myself making one to match every outfit!
maka - thank you
anon - this would be easy for a beginner... the stitchwork is very simple
one thing though... you might like to use a superbulky yarn (like, as thick as you can find) and use only one strand instead of four... I'm just thinking that a beginner might get confused holding four strands together and working them as one
silk scarf - much appreciated
emily - that's fabulous! they really are quick and easy, aren't they?
I am a beginner crocheter. I really loved this pattern. I was able to do it and it was quick. Thanks for posting it!
I stumbled across this scarf randomly this weekend and loved it so much I whipped five during break. I love it and so do all my friends.
I was looking for a quick last minute Christmas gift and this was perfect. I had to use a smaller hook (6.50mm) because I didn't have anything bigger but, it still looks great. I also used a white flecked, blue, green and brown flecked yarn.
Thanks so much!
I also worked this up for a Christmas Gift...I didn't have a 10/P hook, so I used a Q and 5 yarns. Looks great!

I love your scarf - it looks so quick an easy. I've added your link to a list of crafts to do on a Road Trip - I wanted to make sure and include a great starter crochet item. :)
I made this scarf yesterday evening, it's great. Thanks!
I've honestly made like six of these. The more I make, the more the kids around me want them!
Thanks for your creativity!
Hi!
I would like to make a scarf like this, but I need to know the yardage.
I have four skeins of Merino superfine (95meters), do you think it will work?
This is brilliant. I have to make a scarf for a swap and am looking for some unusual pattern. I think I might give this a try with the yarn that I have.
OK SERIOUSLY LOVING THIS!! I started this tonight and am already halfway through. I needed a couple of quick last minute gifts for back home. I am the worlds slowest crocheter. It's a great idea. Perfect for a Hostess Gift, and Nieces. :)

i am learning to crochet and this looks super easy but the largest hook i have is a 6.5mm, can i use that?? also will this work with using just one string??
Well, I'll be trying this one out tomorrow! Looks fantastic, thanks a lot for it! :D
I did this! I think I must crochet pretty tight, because I had to frog it two rows in - it was like cardboard! Second attempt with just 3 strands (and six rows instead of your four) was much more bendy and soft. I'm going to do another one tonight xx
Has anyone kept track of how much yarn you need for this project? I am doing them for gifts and wanted to know how many skeins of yarn I need to purchase.
Is there a youtube video?? don't understand the crochet talk.. more of a visual learner..
thank you
No youtube video for this particular scarf, but there are loads of instructional crochet videos out there. You need to learn how to make a chain and how to work a double crochet stitch. They are the only things you need to learn.
I've used some abbreviations in the instructions:
ch - chain
dc - double crochet
hk - hook
Hope that helps!
Sharon
Thank you! Made for American Girl doll with 2 yarns & ch 60. J hook. Turned out adorable.
Thanks so much for this! I was desperately seeking some quick yet fashionable holiday gifts for my son's pre-school teachers. I used a P hook and got away with just four rows. I added some fringe to both ends and it looks fab! I'll be making this one again.
I used Loops & Threads Country Loom, which is super bulky. One strand and done in 30 minutes. It is beautiful. So simple. I am a self taught crocheter and only been doing it for about 8 months. I made a bunch of scarves for Xmas gifts and just found this pattern. It is so quick. Will be doing this in multiple strands in school colors. I have orders for about 10 already. So this will make it fast going.
Amazing pattern for a lovely scarf, thank you so much...

This came out beautifully and it is SO easy! I am going to make these as Christmas gifts. Thank you!
Hi, in your pattern for the one hour scarf are the instructions in English or American terms? Thank you. Anne
I was wondering the same thing Anne. Looking closer at the picture and the written instructions I would say it's written in American terms.
Yes. You are correct. All of my patterns are written in US terms.
Thank you. :-) Super easy and quick. I used Loops n Threads Charisma. I have one finished and four more to make for Christmas gifts. Enjoy your holidays!

Hello. I have a question, why only chain 2 and turn? Usually isn't it a chain 3 for double crochet for the height, then skip the first chain. Mine is coming out a little wonky. I love this idea of 4 colors, so beautiful!
Good question!
I find that my edges are neater with a ch2 for the turning chain... but you shoukd do whichever works best for you.
Try the ch3 and see whether it neatens your edge.
Enjoy!
Thank you. Using 3 blues and grey - so pretty and warm!
So easy. Where was this when I was making Christmas gifts? #keeperpattern
video??
