A Little On The Bright Side...

I wonder if it's possible for this hat to be even MORE INTENSE in real life???

It certainly seems to be...

In fact, 

the photos just don't quite do justice to just how OVER THE TOP colourful this beanie really is...

Industrial Revolution

Somehow this hat seems a little subdued...

It's quite incredible to see the difference that colour makes...

Because of the muted greys - this hat doesn't seem nearly as silly as it would if it had been worked in a bolder colour...

And again I'm loving the ASYMMETRY...  with two large dangling pom poms on one side... and a single high one on the other side.

 It takes so much pressure off, when you're not trying to match everything... and you just allow the pieces to fall into place naturally...

Beads by Nature

Have you been reading my blog for a while???

Like for a couple of years?

Look closely at the band of this hat - and see if it looks at all familiar to you...

No???

Take a look at this old blog post, then look at the hat again...

Now you see it, don't you?

(You might also notice that the model has grown since then, too)

I made the headband about two years ago - and other than the modeling for those original photographs - it's never been worn!

So I figured I might as well "reduce, re-use, recycle" and use it as the starting point for my most recent hat...

And there you have it -  Hat #7 for the Alice Springs Beanie Festival is complete!

Only 5 more hats to make...

Licorice Allsorts

Right from the beginning, this beanie "felt" like a Licorice Allsort...

It's those colours - the black combined with an assortment of brights...

So much fun to work with colour... colour... and more COLOUR!

I love the asymmetrical tassels too. 

They make me smile!

Mossy Delights

This one is Hat #5 for the Alice Springs Beanie Festival.

I'm calling it Mossy Delights... because so many of the yarn colours and stitch choices remind me of the many types of moss which embellish nature!

And as you can see - my model is in a SILLY mood this time...

Twists and Turns

Here comes Hat #4 for the Alice Springs Beanie Festival...

And it feels LIBERATING to be using some different colours!

I pushed myself to do something a bit different with this one - and mix an odd selection of colours.

And I'm LOVING the quirky results!
