I'm impressed with your design for the top of the hat. I hadn't seen a granny-square hat top handled like that before, and it is SO SMART! :)
My friends are gonna love this when I make them a bunch. :D

Also wanted to say that I love the way you designed your pattern. Putting the instructions into a grid helps me keep track of what row I'm looking at. That will make it so much easier for me to actually USE the pattern. (I almost never use patterns normally.) THANK YOU!

crunchybread - long time, no see! hope all is well with you :)
thanks for the feedback on the pattern style... I have been fiddling about for a while now - trying to find the best layout, and I think that the grid instructions really help keep your focus in the right place
so any new patterns appearing from me now will be written in the same format

Thank you for writing up this pattern! I'm going to make one (or a few ...) for my little one right now.

Thanks for this great pattern! I've got some varigated, mixed-fibre yarn and it's VERY chunky (recommended for 8mm needle!) so I'm trying out your pattern using it with 8mm hook - we'll see how it goes!

Thanks again,
Caz of Never Knew :-)

I love this pattern. I finished my first hat this morning. I wrote a blog/diary entry about the project. We're months and months away from winter but I can't wait to wear my new hat.
