another beaded scarf

finished scarf

I'm really loving this 'beaded scarf thing' at the moment...

My purple one is finished now. I used an assortment of reclaimed beads, some of them were from the tangled necklaces I showed you all earlier. I just love the pizazz and extra colour which the beads bring to the project. I was having so much fun with the beading that I ended up adding longer strands than I did on the previous scarves. Click here to see my green one and my cream one.

If you are interested in making a similar scarf, take a look at this stitch pattern

That came out really well. I love the beads, they are addictive once you get going.

Where do you get your reclaimed necklaces for beads?

It does look fun. I've never tried adding a bead fringe. Gorgeous colour scarf.

cat - thank you

jacqui - thanks... I just seem to flit from one addiction to the next, don't I??? this month it seems to be beads... who knows what next month will be?

sue - thanks... it is so soft and warm too :)

elena - some of the necklaces come from op shops (thrift/charity stores) others are ones I have owned and worn until they broke... I also have a fabulous circle of family and friends who know I love working with reclaimed materials... so they send their broken or unwanted jewellery to me

sam - thanks :)

Lovely!
I would love to try the pattern too. Were you thinking of posting it on Raverly???
I printed a copy out of the first one and showed it to my mother-in-law. She loved it. Then I told her the story. Well We both were in tears.

I have always loved colorful beads.

They look awesome!!!
