tempted by the red felt...

I had my red felted jumper out yesterday, preparing the tongue for the snake...

and I couldn't help but start thinking about how I could use it for Christmas...

and I came up with this tree decoration:

006

so easy too...

001
first I cut my shape

002
then defined it with some yellow stitching

003
some random french knots in orange

004
and then some in green

005
a few blue stars, with white knots at the centre... and a hanging thread to finish it off

simple... easy... tasteful decorations... I love them!

That is to cute! You are so clever. Is it double sided, as in a full stocking or just the 1 piece?

Lovely. :-)
I'm still looking for a jumper to felt. We'll be making lots of these type of decorations out of craft felt in the meantime.

You have such creative ideas! And how stylish! That would be a great little present for co-workers, too! I'm wondering if I have anything appropriate to felt or if I should hit up tha thrift store.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I posted about your hand scrub in my blog. I loved it. :)

jacqui - thanks :) with your needlework skill, you would be able to create some gorgeous stockings... this one made from a very thick felt and is only one sided... I plan to make more, from thinner felt... which will be two sided... and the kids are making one each... slightly larger than this one... to hang on their bedroom doors

sam - the other option.. is just knit or crochet up a square and felt that... then cut whatever shapes you like from it

balou - red, yellow, purple... any colour would be fabulous!

libby - thanks... very simple and festive

jolincountry - you're welcome :) thanks for stopping by

lauria - thanks... you really don't need much felt... you might even find a scarf which could be felted...

Good on ya Purple, I have just had an enjoyable read of your past few postings, I am as usual impressed with them all! Thanks for sharing all of your crafty adventures with us. I know how time consuming it is to blog about the things we love and make and to share them with all.

cat - agreed, it is time consuming... but then again... half the fun is in the sharing :)

We say, "You cannot value the hobby". You are great, Purple. I like to celebrate Christmas and I shall try to make this one for me also.
