a bargain I couldn't say NO to...

Crochet hooks for fifty cents each? There's no way I could pass that up!

Fabulous sizes, too... 10.0mm... 12.0mm... and 15.0mm...

fifty cent hooks

Despite my rapidly growing hook collection, I didn't have a 12.0mm or a 15.0mm hook, so I picked up a couple... then a couple more... and a couple more after that!

They will make wonderful Christmas surprises for my crochet buddies. These sizes are wonderful for experimenting with all those alternative 'yarns' which I love so much, and they aren't always that easy to come by.

Wonderful timing, too... as today is our last crochet meet for the year.

Now that is a happy picture all of the crochet hooks wearing their holiday ribbons all nestled in the pitcher.

Very nice.

I have those exact hooks in 12mm and 15mm. I also picked them up for 50c at last years sales!! Nobody must be adventurous enough to get them (cept the bargain hunters)..

Hope all the recipients love them!

I like how you have gathered them all together into a 'bouquet'! I like how you 'honour' the 'tools'.

Hey they are not bad hooks, I use one of those for crocheting with the rag bags, I use the 12mm.
Great buy!

karen - the bows were cut from scrap fabric, of course!

tea - isn't it crazy... I have hunted for large hooks at stores, and not been able to find them... and then I score these? perfect!

jolincountry - a bargain, indeed!

karen - they almost look like little candy canes

sicilian - and I was a good girl... I didn't take them all from the store... left some for other crocheters to buy

sherryknit - we had a fabulous day, and the hooks were very well received

islagringo - thanks... taking the photos is half the fun, I think

puglette - almost too good to be true

cat - I thought they'd be fabulous for rag work... thanks for the award, much appreciated, although I'm not usually very good at following through on these things

lisab - gotaa take those bargains when you see them... they don't last long

I have never and I mean never seen crochet hooks that big in the UK, Maybe they don't make them here?? Is it like knitting on bigger needles??

sam - thanks

anonymous - sorry... all my hooks have a home now :(

libby - the big hooks are wonderful for working with rags... but sometimes they can be tricky to find.. mind you, you can always find these things online
